Keep Your DJ Updated! Top Things You Should Share With Your DJ

As a company, we love to reflect on the clients we’ve been able to serve, the weddings we’ve been able to make a difference in, and all of the fun we get to bring to our clients and their friends. But a big part of that includes the pre-planning, and getting into the specific details with our clients. We’ve compiled a list of things to make sure share with your DJ before your big day.

Make sure your DJ/emcee knows how to pronounce everyone’s names! This is your special day, and this often overlooked detail can lead to confusion on the big day. Pre-plan with your entertainment company to make sure everyone involved gets their special shout-out.

Song Requests (Yay AND Nay)

While it may seem like a given to tell your DJ what songs you want played, make sure you also mention any that you DON’T want played as well. Hate the Chicken Dance or the Cha Cha Slide? Make sure they know what you want, and what you don’t want, to make sure your reception goes off without a hitch.

Formal Dance Songs

You have your first dance song - fantastic! But do you want the song played in its entirety? Do you want to cut the song short because your new spouse starts to cry every time after the third verse? Let us know these details! We can handle this the day-of seamlessly, as long as you let us know ahead of time.

We need to know a rough timeline for your day. When do you plan on arriving at the reception? How far into the reception do you want the Father-Daughter Dance to start? Giving us cues, even if it’s a rough outline, helps us plan your perfect day, and keep the party going throughout the evening.

And finally…changes!

Your entertainment is flexible! If a timeline changes, if your maid of honor changes the night before the wedding, just let us know! We love to be accommodating any way we can, so never hesitate to reach out if you have questions or changes to your plan.
